Based out of Austin, Kenosis is composed of DavidBoone, DustinCurlee and CodyMiles.

The first collaborative album of Kenosis is called “Transidentity”. This 14 track LP, released on December 4th, is a record of our growth as believers as we find ourselves in the second Adam. Our identity is not found in what we wear or who we are, who we’re with or what we do- it’s beyond that. When we’re off beat, he brings us back. When we’re off pitch, he corrects us. Our hearts and will are in sync with His. Christ is our transidentity.

I never thought I would say this, “Balif, take me away.” Listed all my acts and seen this dirty rag that I made (Isaiah 64:6), Rehabilitation is too far for me, I’m addicted. Every sin on my wish list, trust me, I did it. The flesh is vicious and insists on making mischief, I eat from dirty dishes and old wineskin’s are bursting at the flemish. Flinching in the kitchen from these inhalants, I’m calling for a railing to hold on because the staircase from my basement is so long.. Fattened in a day of slaughter, whats even odder, the thought of me being a father is farther than me having a daughter. I’m not a man, I’m a monster, No, even wronger, the longer my identity lies, it continually alters. I don’t need a sign, just a savior, my behavior is in anger and insure. I’m a stranger in a foreign war. My souls a whore. Lord, take me and make me yours. Break me in every way that I was before and create a door I can walk out for.

My faith aint a ritual, sick of fixin it fictional, quick to kick it to the mission field and stick it to consensual peeps. I got a heart for the streets, who pass the pills for belief, and preach the Word in the burbs of the Sovereignty. I talk in 3rd person, Holy Spirit. What’s worse, I’m steading working: to be fearless. Not Counterfeit, come to grips with these hollow tips. Follow men? You’ll be searching like solomen.

Man, I’m so sedentary that I say it’s scary to me. Instead of 20/20, everything’s so blurry to me. Maybe if I squint or maybe if i strain i would start to see the things that cause me so much pain. Please give me clarity, I beg of the Holy Ghost. I ask in sincerity so my heart is diagnosed. It’s like a cancer, eating up my insides and I know the answer that makes the anguish subside. Talk is cheap and it comes down to action. I walk can creep as I move in a fraction. Attraction to what my heart desires as the prize, either Christ or this world is the apple of my eyes. So I grapple with the lies, saying my good-byes, and now complacency to me is compromise. So I strive for intensity to live out my devotion, cause emotion is the potion, set this whole thing into motion.

The living Word is real, it heals and now it’s penetrating you.

I’m not who I used to be. I move into scrutiny. I’m refined by fire but taken live by the music scene. Like Ephesus, I’m left this first love. It’s this mistress of rap that trapped my thirst of You (Jesus). Truth, life, and light. I refuse to lose the feud on Abraham’s side, but I can’t stay still, like I’m ADHD. I satiate peace in the state of un-repentance. Please don’t let me take advantage of this grace, I shake my sandals from this place. I take your annals, off the mantels and I seek your face. The weak you raise and I think I’m a prime candidate for the beat and broken saint that needs to be saved. I’ve seen my eyes move from the cross to the present life. I mean, these lies prove that I’m wrong but it feels so nice. Parasite on my faith, my paradigm is reshaped, God, please help me realize that this paradise is fake.

Eyes wired, divinely inspired this. I’m tired, but you’re holding up my irises. I’ll tell these kids in the fire, it’s life on the higher cliffs. Try or miss, I’ll stand on this stage and still inquire men. Environment if it’s vital then we need to live our lives like we Jesus and not desire sin. They looking at us, waiting for the fall, taking us for saul, tasting us for salt, buts it’s all an assault that faults by default. I work with his energy. I work so all men can see these words mean nothing… I want my life to resemble Jesus Christ. Plead my rights before the court and divorce this worldly wife. These words I write are the overflow. Don’t get caught in the undertow. I know it’s not fun but in the sun you grow. Friend or foe, hear my case, in the snow, in the rain, we need to glorify Jesus and take nothing to waste.
